READ IMMEDIATELY
Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and Norton Please send it to everybody you know who has Access to the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled “Here you have it” If you open the file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful....'
Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC, And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your Name, e-mail and password. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it.
The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'.
PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, And ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!
THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY SNOPES. http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/hereyouhave.asp |

I dunno about other ISPs but mine allows me to check all incoming mail on their server before it gets anywhere near my computer. If anything looks suspicious, or is from someone I don't know, I can open it before I download it. I've been doing that for years.
Also, i received notice not to open any email claiming to have OBL's photos.
Almost certainly a hoax - a quick bit of googling turned up this:

So much the better.
I follow SNOPES.com
There's no way of being certain, but a decent (and up to date) virus scanner ought to catch anything like this, I'd have thought.
I guess I'd not be quick to discount a warning. . .caution. . .I'd like to think that virus scanners and the spam separators would take take of us. . . ..but there must be a reason why folks like SNOPES.com do check out the veracity of warnings.
I post it simply as a service. . ."just in case". ;-) It doesn't take much space. . hehe. . .and if it is unnecessary, that's OK. . .

p.s. You seem to have enjoyed Boston a great deal. Nice. You posted a lot of great photos!
Boston - what's not to like? It's one of my favourite cities. I have family there so have visited quite often and feel quite at home there. Last summer was the first time I'd been in summer for ages, though, and it was very different. I'm used to being wrapped up in many layers and running from one warm place to the next through several feet of snow. It was quite nice just to loiter on the common and enjoy watching life passing by.
