TRENTON, New Jersey (Reuters) - New Jersey's Assembly voted 41 to 33 on Thursday to approve a gay marriage bill that could pave the way for New Jersey to join six other states where same-sex couples can today legally wed.
To become law, the bill would have to be signed by Governor Chris Christie, a Republican who has promised to veto the measure.

Good thing Governor Christie doesn't have any objection to being tube fed.
Pithy "hit" there, Gary. . .LOL Direct image. . .heheee
I still fail to see how being Republican ( A form of governmental leadership) makes someone so stupid.
I have this stupid idea in my head that a government leader is supposed to represent their people. If the people want to get married, then what's the issue here?
But perhaps I am wrong and we are all supposed to do whatever the King or Queen says. Oops, we don't have Kings and Queens in America.
Oh. . Stew. . .I disagree with you here. . .we have a LOT of QUEENS in America. . .and some kings too.
LOL

LOL
Didn't Christie make some noise about not standing in the way of civil unions/ same sex marriage?
He's usually a courageous guy.
I think he's scared of the religious reich. Talking about despotic queens. Unfortunately, too many people let the religious reich think they run the republican party. That's why Sanctus Santorum is doing so well.
And if any of Those people happen to be reading this, I have the right to vote for the green party in November. :p~~~~
Coop's got a point. Lots of Aussies vote for the Greens here cos they're frustrated with the two mains.
Coop's also right about people associating the Republicans with the Religious Reich... even J admits that and is worried about it.
Happy to see my term RELIGIOUS REICH used here twice. You have my permission. . .hahahahahaaaahahahaaha

Christie vetoed it because he thinks New Jersey voters should decide. And he wants to make sure the civil unions are actually working. I like that idea. Fair enough. Not as bad as I thought. One of these days a state full of voters will allow same sex marriage. I'd like to see the anti-Equality groups respond to that. Whoever said the majority of the American people can't change it's mind?
Ooops, my bad. "Religious Reich" should be credited to Justin O'Shea.
The Kings and Queens never stopped running the world, they just moved
them over to America. Remember the
serfs the low class peons. Only thing here is we get to elect all of our Crooks and we are not represented by them as our fellow citizens, but they all become crooks. The last eleven Presidents have sold us out, lock stock and barrel. I don't care what you say Justin, just let the Truth set you free.
George Bush sold our souls out to the Chinese. Nixon started it all
with China. JFK, (sorry he was Irish) started selling our industry
away, with round table trade talks
(I just started working in late the
'50's) and we don't get to fly around the country and the world everyday for really nothing that is a real reason for it. Justin your dad should have that priviledge. Guess I am a little crazy, but you name every President since Ike, and I tell you, TV has taken over their
sanity. Nobody like old Harry
Truman, He was the last of the Best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every One of
them have been for themselves, that
is enuf said. Amen
PS You probably won't want to Publish this, it is allright WM.
From what I read in that Huffington post article there is a bit of a stalemate.
The legislature doesn't have the votes to override Christie's veto.
That much is clear.
The Republicans want to put gay marriage before the voters The Dems are refusing even though the voters are in favor of gay marriage.
So who is winning? The hoi polloi loses to partisan politics. Then again, I could be reading it wrong.
When did we vote to allow heteros to marry?
VOTE????
Now wait just a little minute. . .lol Believers do not need a vote since they are following a God-given mnadate: "Increase and multiply". . ."Go thou amd do likewise. . ."
For those who choose not to follow the God-given plan, namely "One Man + One Woman. . ONE Time". . .they had to find some way or excuse to circumvent The Law. . . and so they created Politics. And the rest is history.
There, is that orthodox and conservative enough to qualify me as a member in good standing of the Religious Reich?
Play it again, Sam. . . lol
Well, just to confuse the issue a little more, if "go forth and multiply" means the same as getting married then I suppose God wasn't talking to gays when he spoke about "multiply".
Is marriage only for multipliers? That seems to be the question.
GARY. . .I was not attempting to quote "GOD". . .I was trying to "quote" religionist teachers. . . .
sometimes a big difference. . .I hope! and of course, for them there is not marriage for same sex persons.
