It was sad to read how many of these playful creatures were beached and died on Cape Cod. Years ago I was swimming on a warm September day off Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, when a pod of dolphins that usually swam up and down the beach approached and congregated about 15 feet away. One started slapping his tail on the water, so I slapped back with my arms. We continued this bizarre inter-species conversation for about 10 minutes, until I decided I wasn't going to get close enough to touch them. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful encounter.
J. . .sounds wonderful! Never got that close. . I'd like to swim with the dolphins. Peter tells about his experience, and these two dolphins came back every day, about the same time, as if looking for him. They were young and really playful. . .and "talked a lot". . .lol. . lots of chirps and whistles and stuff.
Guys have told me about this but I am never around "when it happens". . .I suppose I am NOT "one of the chosen". . . hahahaa Someday. . maybe. ;-))

My son Joe, is a chemist, worked at Seaworld in Florida for about 8yrs. He worked with them everyday. took us to the aquarium and showed us these good natured boy dolphins constantly screwing the females all the time. This I think is why they are so happy, loving and carefree. Life was meant to be Joy and Happiness. Maybe we should have been Dolphins. LOL
