H U G S

H U G S

MY DAD EMAILED THIS TO ME. . .WAS IN MY MAILBOX THIS MORNING!!! WOWZZER. GREAT WAY TO BEGIN TODAY! T H A N K S , DAD!

This moved me to tears…perhaps it is because as a child of the 60’s I believed if we had enough love we could change the world…

perhaps it is because to give a hug we need open arms and an open heart…and that reminds me of Jesus’ love for us…see how many respond…and how many simply walk away…

is it like you when you are offering people the way to eternal life and they simply ignore it?

Yet to those who accept the hug…a smile comes over them and they seem affirmed in the wonderful sea of humanity and they are connected to the best that we humans have to offer: unconditional love and acceptance.

Hugs!

Justin,

The link did not quite want to open in my browser but I searched YouTube for "HUGS" and I think I saw the video your post is talking about... The free hugs campaign all across the world.

I happened to view a video of free hugs taken in Scotland and it was interesting to watch the people who smiled upon receiving their hug and others who walked away...even police reaction.

I really, really appreciated your dad's analogy to the love we choose to either accept or reject from Christ that is extended to us.

Not a political agenda. Not something that is the exclusive property of one party or denomination or dogma. Christ's unwavering love for us to accept or turn away from.

Thanks so much for giving me something deep to smile about and think about today. It's obvious from reading your dad's post where you get your bright outlook on life, deep understanding, and love for people. Right where you always said you got it... starting at home!

I just watched the 'Scotland ' one too....tks Erich. It was lovely. Noticed that young people do not mind to show their emotions very freely. Older folk for the most part were hesitant or totally ignored the situation. What happens to us as we get older? Justin, you are a sure sign that you will probably stay much as you are today.....hope so.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of us were not so fearful about showing our emotions freely....actually it all reminds me of the mindset in the 60's. Time has come again......

Your dad is obviously a very loving and caring person, JustinO, and ya never know... one of these days it might even rub off on you.

:-P

BTW, people like myself who recoil from hugs, particularly hugs offered by strangers, aren't necessarily rejecting the offer, it may be due to an inability to reciprocate.

The kind of affection willingly expressed in your home, and which you probably take for granted, never existed in mine.

Gary, thanks for your kind thoughts put into words. Much appreciated.

I do understand what your are expressing. . . .and I promise you, I will work on never taking this or anyone for granted. Telling another who and why we are is a great gift. Thank you!

hugs!
