BTW, we don't have Thanksgiving in Oz, but I had a note from a friend in Colorado who says we Aussies are really missing out... turkey with all the "fixins".
I've often wondered about American expressions. You guys "do" lunch. How the hell can you "do" lunch? Or if you have lunch at home you "fix" it. What was wrong with it in the first place?
But there's more. You "take" a shower. Why not leave it where it is?
