We Bostonians still keep an eye on Cardinal Law. He's one of the ring leaders and he didn't start bothering the nuns in America 'til he was safe in Rome.
COOPS. . .LAW is nobody now. . .really. .and he doesn't matter anyway. These Sisters have handled the whole thing with great class and style. . and solid background: faith, love, incredible hope and great commitment.
Since the April decree was issued they have maintained their self-respect, taken their own time, refused to be afraid, trusted themselves and one another and truly acted as faith-filled women!
I don't think the Old Men in the Vatican were aware of the force they had attacked and accused. The Sisters didn't shiver, shake, rattle or roll. . .LOL They took their time to reply. . .they talked together, planned, and they prayed: they listened with faith-filled hearts, and then consulted with the entire group of US Sisters represented by LCWR, listened-in prayer some more. . .and only then informed the Vatican when they were ready to begin the dialog. . .
The Catholic laity are solidly behind them. . . and, if they have a shred of wisdom left, the bishops and clergy better get behind them asap! ;-)
DO you remember the power behind "Sister said. . ." ? LOL
The gossip from May (it was in the Herald or the Globe, I forget) said that that Cardinal Law still has influence. He has the ear of the men responsible for putting the nuns under the microscope.
My sister in the Energy Department informs me that a lot of heads are going to roll over this security breach. Irrespective of the reasons for this nun's mission, her's was a stunning accomplishment.

Awesome!
Age shall not weary them.
What a remarkable story, and woman. If ever there was a modern day version of David and Goliath, this is it.
What a great analogy! Thanks for that too. ;-)) Hmmmm, David and Goliath.
