This is a watershed moment. As New York goes, so goes the nation.

I wonder what Plato and Homer and Harry Stottle would think about all this. Homosexuality was no biggie in their day.

YES, J. . .watershed indeed. . . {dya know the origins of that expression? ;-). . Yes great event.

BUT. . .over tne years ago now, Vermont introduced Civil Unions to the country. Then, when the world didn't come to an end, The Commonwealth of Massachusets allowed gay marriage. Shortly thereafter VT came to realize civil unions wasn't quite enough: they followed MA into gay marriages.

It has taken NY a while to catch up. Maine and Rhode Island ought to follow suit. . .then Marriage Equality would be established in all of New England.

There'd be quite a BlueBlock for the rest of the country to sit up and take notice. ;-)

Yes, so I've heard.

In their day these Gents had their wives to mother children and manage their homes. . .and fairly in common they, plus the military, had their boys for fun n' games.

And then the Temples of/for the various gods and goddesses aside from religious festivals also provided the temple prostitutes male and female for the amusement of the devotees. You pays your money and you takes your choice. And quite frequently there was a respectable regularity for these same sex arrangements over the years.
There have always been the lavender shadows. . . Today, it would seem, there are fewer shadows.

But remember: Back then they didn't have AIDS, Syphilis (a New World malady) or genital herpes. We don't know enough of the history of gonorrhea to determine its origins and prevalence, since the earliest historic references derive from the Middle Ages, but it is certain that the temples were considerably purer than what you might encounter today in an unregulated brothel. Ah, the good old days, and that old time religion!
