Yes it is as if only being 'partially gay' is acceptable.....just enough so that others WON'T notice! Imagine! Where does one 'draw the line'? And who defines the line? Gays are as guilty of this as anyone else.
As you can see Justin, this one really bugs me....always has.

I usually respond with " No, that is soooo straight, it's not kewl enough to be gay"
Then they'll say" you know what I mean" which of course I say "no" to.

Years ago, words to describe homosexuality included fag, faggot, queer, poof, poofter, shirt lifter etc, and they were meant as insults. So along came the word gay to give homosexuality a new acceptability. It was cool to be gay. But now the word gay is losing it's respectability... or so it seems. Perhaps homophobes are determined never to allow homosexuality, whatever the label, to be accepted by mainstream society.

Meanwhile, homophobe in my book has far worse connotations than words like faggot or poofter or gay ever could. Homophobia is a very nasty condition indeed.

How about we counter oh so gay with oh so phobic? Fight fire with fire, I reckon.

Justin, I think Gary needs a... ba...na...na...!!!

Post topic: I imagine to a youngster these words are much more hurtful. Some kid searching for his/her identity, or looking for some small hint of acceptance, could be crushed upon hearing those words.
