Off to Sydney for a while...

Sunday, January 1, 2012 10:22 PM

G'day JustinO,

Just letting you know I'll be away for about two weeks from Wednesday. I'm off to Royal Prince Alfred hospital in Sydney for an operation to remove a cancerous lesion in my mouth which has also spread to a lymph gland. 10 to 12 days in hospital is gonna drive me nuts. On the other hand, a friend said I might meet someone interesting in the same ward hehe. Yeah, right. Knowing my luck, they'll all be grumpy old snorers. Besides, my mouth will be bandaged so I won't be able to talk! How frustrating!

I chatted with Gary to be sure it was OK to post this. .  He said it was. . .He doesn't want anyone to worry. . .about a sudden-without-warning disappearance.  ;-)

Good luck, Gary.  All good wishes, and "the rest of the stuff I told you earlier". . . LOL. . .and like it or not, I am going to pray for you. . . cuz that's what I do.  ;-) Get well quickly. . .and as an assist, try. . .for once in your life. .  to do what you are told by the medical team.  hahaaa  That makes their work easier. . ;-)

love,

Why do you think the medical team will put me to sleep with general anaesthetic, JustinO? They want me to shuddup and behave during the op. That's an unfair advantage if you ask me. But I'll give 'em a bit of curry when I wake up.

Wishing you well, Gary. May all your nurses be male hunks!!!

Gary, all the best to you! And we are sending all good and positive energy from the cold North Atlantic! Don't worry, it will be warm by the time you feel it. Now do what you're told and back on home ASAP!

All the best fella, we'll miss you and your pithy comments.

Return with a vengeance!

Here's hoping you will dodge the bullet. If it's one lymph node it shouldn't be metastatic.

Sending good vibes from the soggy but frozen Midwest America. What will we do without your witty banter for a couple of weeks?

Trust J to know the meaning of metastatic. He's probably got shares in Google.

I'm leaving soon. Thanks for all the wishes but hold the prayers, okay. I don't want some courier arriving at the hospital with bags and bags of the damn things.

Gary, I know how you feel now,
it is the unknown that we fear.
My prayers and I know the rest
of us will be praying for your
full recovery. Getting old takes
it toll.

Now you go and be at peace. . . no one will embarrass you, Gary, with our prayers. . . hahhaaaa. . . we are all very circumspect ! LOL

Be good now. . .if possible.

Gary...the best part of prayer is not what is written...it is what is held in the silence of one's heart. Know that you will be in ours.
