"I can’t for the life of me imagine that God would say, “I will punish you because you are black. You should have been White. I will punish you because you are a woman; you should have been a man. I will punish you because you are homosexual. You ought to have been heterosexual.” I can’t for the life of me believe that is how God sees things."
Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (For the Bible Tells Me So)

Definitely smarter than your average homophobe is Desmond.

I saw him interviewed on the Late Late show with Craig Ferguson (who ranks Tutu as one of the most impressive - if not THE most - people he's ever met).

When asked about gay people Tutu said, "It's an aberration".

We are here to make the white straight men feel better by having someone to look down on.
I'm happy to have my position in life. Happy that although I am a white man, I am not straight!

I am surprised. He has always spoken pro-LGBTQ people. . . I wonder. . .

That was probably a misquote (about the archbishop calling us an aberration). That's not even a full sentence. He probably said a lot more to say after that. And someone doctored it to support their view. Like THAT's ever happened.

Or Desmond could just refuse to be hateful. He's showing God's love. I'm guessing that a lot of people oppose gay marriage but they don't have any hate towards gay People. Just an example.

What's wrong with aberration? Straight sex is normal throughout nature because nature needs its breeders in order to keep life moving along. Gays are not breeders. If all things were gay, the world of living things would have ended a long time ago. Aberration is cool with me. I think it's cool with Tutu as well. Check out his nose. Is that an aberration or what?

What do you think a black man would say about red hair, fair skin and freckles?

As to Tutu being misquoted, no, that's what he said and I saw/heard him say it as he sat in a chair being interviewed by Craig Ferguson. It was a year or two ago. It's probably still on Youtube.

OK. . .OK. . .I needed that reminder of the meaning of the word "aberration". . . . often enough case of knee-jerk without brain-in-gear ! LOL

Thanks, Gary. I was unsure about the word "aberration". Now I understand what Tutu was saying on Craig Ferguson.
