The Obama administration on Thursday will throw its support behind a broad claim for marriage equality, urging the Supreme Court to rule that voters in California were not entitled to ban same-sex marriage there, according to an administration official.

Yessir, March is going to be one INTERESTING month at the SCOTUS. Both the DOMA case and the appeal of the 9th Circuit decision in the Prop 8 matter will be argued.

My bet is that DOMA goes down with a 6:3 decision (or better). In the Prop 8 case I'm hoping for a 5:4.
