STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • An appeals court temporarily reinstates "don't ask, don't tell"
  • The military won't be allowed to investigate, penalize or discharge anyone under the policy
  • Officials support the repeal of policy, but object to having courts set timing
Washington (CNN) -- A federal appeals court temporarily has reinstated the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans gays and lesbians from serving in the military, but banned the services from investigating or discharging anyone under the rule.
The 9th U.S. Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in California issued the order late Friday after the Obama administration asked it to reconsider its recent order temporarily blocking the policy.
U.S. officials have been moving ahead with dismantling "don't' ask, don't tell" but had objected to having the courts force the government to officially repeal it at this time.

QUESTION:  Does it appear that more frequently, of late, Mr Obama is "back tracking" on his promises, pledges?
It wasn't too long ago that the Gay Media was touting the largely attended dinner with the President by prominent and large bank-account
members of the so-called "Gay Community" at which time Mr Obama reportedly promised them everything,  short of the Pope leading the NYCityGay Parade in June.

What is/has happened?   "Read my lips:  No more lies". . . . ooopsss that was from a darker era . . .wasn't it  GWBush?

G'day JustinO,

There's hope for you and Peter yet, mate. Michele Bachmann and her husband are out to save people like you, and with a bit of luck, Michele will be the next president of the United States. Hehe.

Hello ALL Y'All.. . .Got a tad behind in some emails.  Gary sent this one along.  Businesses like this one give the legal profession a sometimes-dirty-name.  Shame too, cuz some of them are for real. LOL.

G'day JustinO,

This lawyer story was sent to me by my 85 y/o mate in North Carolina. Given that your dad is a lawyer, you may already be aware of it. If so, ignore it. Otherwise, enjoy.

BEST TRUE LAWYER STORY OF THE YEAR, DECADE, AND POSSIBLY THE CENTURY
This took place in Charlotte, North Carolina. A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost 'in a series of small fires.'
The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued - and WON! (Stay with me.)
Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company, in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable 'fire' and was obligated to pay the claim.
Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars that perished in the 'fires'.
NOW FOR THE BEST PART...
After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.
This true story won First Place in last year's Criminal Lawyers Award contest.

SISSY BOY

A friend from school sent me this news item

This makes me angry!  The program, by "one of the family", shows an "experiment" done  on a 5 year old boy.  It is tragic. . .even beyond tragic.  For things like this I  think the Biblical words so often used in the Ritual of Marriage:  "What, therefore, God has joined together let no one put asunder!"

Being a 'person of faith'  - a fact some would consider even peculiar today -lol - I often go back to early-on-learned concepts: "God made me in God's image and likeness" so my gender, my sexual orientation is all part of that awesome creative act wherein through the passionate love of my parents God called me into being and joined together in one my body, mind and spirit . . . .So what God has joined together let no one put asunder!

This horrific experiment on a little boy conducted by psychotherapists  at UCLA. . . and elsewhere, I am sure. . . stands as "pulling asunder" a human person . . . .an act which cries to heaven for justice.  Anderson Cooper shows this rapist - this would-be- practitioner of homosexual reparation therapy for what he and it is.

Anderson Cooper 360 show had what I would call the "Asshole of the Year" award - George Rekers.  He "treated" a young boy back in the 1970's to "cure" him of effeminate behavior.  Of course, recently, Dr. Rekers went overseas with a "male escort" found on the internet from some site called "Rent-a-boy" or something close to that.

Here is the two-part series - worth a watch:
