The Catholic Hierarchy thinks it owns marriage; that marriage was created by God and not man.
But marriage exists in all cultures, including pagan, non-Christian, athiest and whatever else. Marriage is universal and doesn't belong to any organization, religious or otherwise. The Catholic hierarchy should butt out.
