Bothering me is cool. Just because I can't be bothered doing things sometimes doesn't mean you shouldn't be. I'm the one who's not very well, rememember. I think it's the rush from the first operation in early January (tumor) to the second in late January (stomach tube) to preparations for radiation therapy that's getting me down. I still haven't recovered from speech and eating problems from the first yet... not to mention chronic tiredness.
Next week I have my first double dose of radiation (4 doses) then a break for a month before the next double dose.
I'm sorry I can't be more positive right now, and I'm not sure when I'll start to improve, but thanks a stack for wishing me well and for letting me know I'm in your thoughts and prayers. It's very difficult to summon the mental energy for answering emails at the mo... or to focus on anything.

I've been wondering how you're getting on Gary, so I'm glad Justin contacted you and asked (at least that's how I read it)
So, I don't know what good it does, but there are people out there thinking about you and for what it is worth, hoping like hell you recover and get back to giving us some more of your comments and dry wit.

Gary, you have my support, as well. Gosh i've been reading your daily posts for a long time now. And look forward to many more once you are healthy.
You've done more than your share of helping others, so don't be too proud to ask those ppl around you for help.

And. . there is a 'power'. . an "energy'. . a 'force' within us all that does affect the one to whom that power is collectively directed. I am not a scientist in the investigative field who has the vocabulary which can explain the the dynamics involved but I do know experientially the truth of which I write here.
This is not "new age" sophistry but rather the collective assertions of the wisdom of all our major thinkers down thru the ages.
So yes, our inner beings --our energy/force/love -- collectively do "touch" Gary. . . . .

And then for entertainment in recovery, use the banana peels to polish your shoes! Does wonders for grubby foot gear. lol

With all the mystery I decided to call Port MacQuarie Hospital yesterday to see if Gary Kelly was there,and the operator said he had already been released. So, Gary, I decided that you were home and didn't want your international claque to bother you until you got better. This business will take a lot out of you,so rest up all you can.
So it was YOU, J? Well, how about that. I was in a ward with an old farmer who did nothing but tell stories in a dry, loud voice by day and snore his head off by night - also loudly. The morning I left, he told the same story to three different nurses cos he wanted to get the full mileage. He almost drove me batty. But I return tomorrow for the start of treatment and stay till Friday. However, this time I stay in the Rotary Lodge (like a motel) in the Hospital Grounds. Then I'm home again for 4 weeks before I'm back at the hospital for another dose of intensive treatment. Thanks to all the Dunes Bois for their wishes and thoughts. And thanks again J... you surprised me.
Oh yes... and please don't mention banana milkshakes again.

By the way, if J had caught me on the phone at Port Macquarie Hospital before I was discharged the other day, he would have had to understand an Aussie as well as one with a swollen tongue... which ain't easy lemme tellya.
