G'day JustinO,
Sydney's Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras was a big success last night despite the weather. It was the 35th anniversay of the event. The cops raided the first back in the '70s and arrested the participants. Now the cops are marching in the parade, and proud to be there. How times have changed!

How great is it Gary that you've been able to see that change?
Thanks for sharing.
I forgot to mention that amongst the marchers in the parade were members of the armed forces in uniform, politicians, religious groups, and various other "respectable" community orgs. Imagine how that affects young minds... that being gay is no biggie. It's a far cry from the attitude of society when I was young.
It also seems to me that the word "gay" which used to mean happy and carefree has returned to its former meaning. What goes around... yeah?
Hmm....yes times've changed.... but perhaps not all that much
