G'day JustinO,
A friend from North Carolina sent this to me:
My name is Sarah and I’m a 16-year-old student from Alabama. Along with my friend Adam, we're asking the Alabama legislature to remove a section of Alabama law that requires sexual education teachers to emphasize "homosexuality is not a lifestyle acceptable to the general public and that homosexual conduct is a criminal offense."

Didn't it used to be, here in the USA? Still could be in some places. . .certainly in other countries. . .recall the teen boys publicly handed in Iran a few summers back. . ."death penalty legislation pending in Uganda. . "
Without doubt, Coopster. . .
Yeah, Coop, without doubt. And here's something that has occurred to me. When you're introduced to a straight couple, do you immediately visualize them having sex? No? Why not? I'm sure homophobes visualize gay men having sex. I'm also sure that's the main reason they're homophobic. Porno in living color between their ears.
Bible bashers talk about "lying with a man" because they're obsessed with sex. Best buds, best mates, platonic relationships are all fine - just not between the sheets.
As a kid at a catholic school I was taught that having "impure thoughts" was a sin. Impure thoughts, of course, were thoughts about sex. Therefore, anything to do with sex was disgusting unless it took place within the confines of marriage and was for the sole purpose of procreation. See what I mean about obsessed with sex?
Here's another example: when you use "foul" language what do those words relate to? Sex, right?
So there we have a world full of homophobic and religious zealots visualizing what two blokes do in bed. Who, I ask you, has a problem?
