However 3 months into owning the 4 year old car, the engine blew (right after the trans went). I've driven new cars ever since.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02964941329127641280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517388058225414110.post-31533736993148350122010-12-10T21:49:58.176-05:002010-12-10T21:49:58.176-05:00Gary, that damned car was made with a Jaguar gearb...Gary, that damned car was made with a Jaguar gearbox, a Triumph engine and an ash wood frame. I really liked the late Peter Morgan, but doubt that most British mechanics could deal with his product. Der Fuhrer made your VW to last. Now we have to buy oriental cars to avoid the garage.Jnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517388058225414110.post-75727866586784840672010-12-10T15:54:40.263-05:002010-12-10T15:54:40.263-05:00What J is trying to say is this: if you own a Brit...What J is trying to say is this: if you own a British car, don't use an American mechanic.

:-PGary Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17947146717481835071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517388058225414110.post-18647317946266377392010-12-10T09:01:20.490-05:002010-12-10T09:01:20.490-05:00My first car was a black Morgan with a red leathe...My first car was a black Morgan with a red leather interior and a brass mounted British flag crest on the side. It was fun to drive around in during warm weather and was beautiful to see, but it stayed in the shop all the time and the locals didn't know how to repair it. Talk about high maintenance! The moral to the story: Don't ever buy anything made in England.Jnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4517388058225414110.post-1927895550747971812010-12-09T23:13:55.607-05:002010-12-09T23:13:55.607-05:00And to think I took that pic over 45 years ago.
