Well, I've often smiled agreeingly at some of Cher's "observations" too.
In the absence of any other comments on your post Justin I just thought I'd tell you that our Australian Govt is going through the gay marriage issue, again.
It seems that many here in this country are not totally against such a thing, in fact if you can belive polls, the majority.
The majority at least believe our government should allow a conscience vote and not a policy vote. http://www.australianmarriageequality.com/newopinionpoll.htm
But the issue has become clouded because of the rather unusual balance of power in our country resulting from the last election where we nearly had a locked government due to a near dead-heat.

Unfortunately the real issue will probably be lost in the complex world of politics and not be resolved favourably as would appear to be the wishes of the majority.
I often find myself with this thought..."What a sad world we live in" But, hey, it really is a beautiful world, when we look beyond the people that we 'elect' to run our lives isn't it. Our fault I guess.
